A lovely clean hotel, perfect for a couple of days in London
It’s a lovely clean hotel, has been renovated and the location is convenient. The staff were very nice and helpful, friendly, and understanding. Especially as we needed help with our luggage and paintings. We extended our stay for one more night just because it was a nice place and convenient to get to Kings Cross. Also we had fresh fruit and berries for breakfast?! That was a nice surprise. Thank you.
There’s no lift (which is to be expected in old properties). But otherwise, no complaints.

Cracking value for money, a great location, very comfortable, a good breakfast, and very friendly!
The hotel is in a picturesque and very traditional side street, more or less over the road from Kings Cross, so the location is great, and I thought the price very fair, for that location. The bathroom looked to have been refitted relatively recently, so was clean and modern. All staff were extremely polite and helpful. The breakfast wasn't the usual hot buffet, but was more of a cold buffet, albeit very comprehensive, plus boiled eggs, and the offer of freshly-cooked scrambled eggs, which had not sat (as in most hotels) under a heat lamp, and I have to say, they were cooked to absolute perfection. I appreciated that slightly unusual little "extra" very much! There is a wider than average choice of fruit juices, too!
Not a lot to say here! If we are going to be picky, there doesn't seem to be a lift, or I wasn't guided to it, so anyone of advancing years might be advised to book a room on a lower floor, if unable to haul their luggage up to the third floor! There isn't a bar, so you need to go out, if you want a drink, but it's probably not a problem for most customers. The plumber had connected up the newly-installed basin mixer tap in my room the wrong way round, so hot came out of the side with the blue dot on the tap, and cold out of the side with the red dot. The bedroom carpet could probably so with a professional clean, but it wasn't bad. Otherwise, the place was very clean.
